About kbb News
Welcome to kbb News. If you are a specialist retailer of fitted kitchens, bathroom retailer, architect, or interior designer and have a professional interest in news about interior design, kitchen furniture, kitchen appliances, bathroom design and where these fit into the interiors of today, kbb News is for you.
We delve beyond kitchen units (or kitchen cabinets as we prefer to call them), and kitchen doors to report on the latest trends in kitchen and bathroom furniture.
We bring you up-to-date information on every aspect of current bathroom and kitchen thinking, even news on the latest kitchen sinks!
kbb News is an internet-only publication. We do not republish old features or previews of coming sections for any print-based publication. The only place you can read the content of kbb News is on this website or in the weekly kbb News newsletter we distribute.
This particular section of kbb News is to help first-time visitors to the website make the most of the features we have on the kbb News website. The website is frequently updated, so you should make a point of returning regularly to this section and keep up to speed with latest developments as we introduce them.
The kbb News website, in common with most other progressive websites, is work in progress itself. We are always looking at new features to add or services to offer via the website.
A click on any of the headlines below will take you directly to that section.

About UBM Live
kbb News is published by UBM Live organisers of the kbb Birmingham exhibition. While we support kbb Birmingham, is part of the family after all, kbb News is also editorially independent of them.
We see our role as providing a news service for the whole of the KBB sector. We welcome information from all sectors of the KBB industry. All that we ask is that it is honest, decent, legal and truthful.
Keeping in touch
Obviously you can visit the website! You can also subscribe to the free weekly kbb News email newsletter and receive headlines and an update on the website's development direct to your desktop.
In addition, we have a service that delivers headlines and breaking news to the website via twitter that we run in association with our sister site the Interiors Hub. If you have a twitter account already, its a fairly easy step to receive breaking news and headlines from kbb News direct to your mobile phone - and a recent survey has revealed that over 95% of those who subscribe to the kbb News do have a mobile phone.
If you are not yet a signed up to twitter, it is very easy to do so. Its a free service for the distribution of short text messages and you can get details and sign up for the service by visiting the twitter page on this website.
Submitting industry news and product information
If you have industry news of your own that you would like to share with almost 15,000 KBB professionals who already receive kbb News each week, and with the 40,000+ visitors who visit the KBB website, the web editor would like to hear from you.
His email address is grahame.morrison@ubm.com and he looks forward to receiving your information.
Ideally the information you send should be sent by email as an attached Word document. Images should be sent as separate attachments (see Photography for the full specification) rather than embedded into fancy documents. Yes, they look great, but from the point of view of providing editorial information to a web editor they are less use than a chocolate toasting fork.
The kbb News website is updated with news items at least once a week and often more frequently than that so there is no such thing as "too much news" as far as we are concerned.
The internet may have started out as a text-based medium for universities to exchange information, or for the US military to communicate with each other - depending on which theory you support - but ever since the mid 1990s when Tim Berners-Lee did his thing, the world wide web has been a visual medium.
We prefer to use an image with all items. A news story may stand without one, but a product story stands no chance of being used by us if an image is not sent with the copy.
The minimum specification we need for photography is as follows:
Resolution: 72dpi
Size: 450 pixels on the shortest edge (minimum)
Format: JPEG Only
Colour Mode: RGB Only
If in doubt, go large! We can reduce the resolution and size of digital images but the wheels fall off in a spectacular fashion if we try to increase the size of a small image.
The editor has his on blog - Grahame's KBB blog. Regular kbb News bloggers and guest bloggers contribute to our Guest Blog section. If you would like to be a guest blogger for kbb News, please send 600 - 800 words on a kbb-related subject of your choice, plus a brief biography and an image of yourself (see Photography for the full image specification we need)to the web editor: grahame.morrison@ubm.com.
You can write about any kbb-related topic that takes your fancy or raises your blood pressure come to that. All we ask is that you remember in cases of libel, it is usually the editor that goes to jail...
We welcome feedback from our readers. Some sections such as Blogs and selected news items carry a reply option but you are welcome to email the web editor at grahame.morrison@ubm.com with Feedback? (minus the ?marks) as the subject about any of the subjects covered on the kbb News website and your comments will be included in the feedback section. If you would rather your name and email address did not appear on the website, please state this clearly.
Please note, unless you do clearly state on your email that is not for publication, we will assume we can publish it on the kbb News website.
There are a number of advertising opportunities on the kbb News website, including both banners and buttons. Additionally the kbb News weekly newsletter features a banner ad and sponsored links while the soon-to-be-launched kbb News Live Events will also feature a number of sponsorship opportunities. Also coming soon, the kbb Classified section.
To find out more about any of these opportunities or to discuss other projects, please contact the kbb Event Manager Graham Martin on gmartin@cmpi.biz
