Viking's new top-of-the-line range
New cooking, cooling, dishwashers and wine cellars for the high-end appliance company.
Established during the 1980's in America, the Viking brand supplies restaurant quality appliances for the home, reports Lucy Cheeseman. It's a typically American look: stainless steel, robust and brassy, and Viking's newest range cooker embodies all these characteristics and more to boot.
The impressive new collection unsurprisingly boosts some of the largest, quickest and fastest cooking and cooling options on the market.
The XXL Range cooker, seen here, features the largest Viking oven on offer (122cm), as well as the widest fan and fastest pre-heating system. It also features eight burners, two duel-fuel electric ovens (73 and 133 litres), and is capable of 8 programme modes and a temperature range of 40 to 275˚C.
The gas option contains an infrared grill that is able to reach 800˚C extremely quickly and the burner power range of 0.12Kw - 4.8 Kw.
Available in four sizes, the 'Custom Series' range cooker is undoubtedly the star of the new range, which also comprises dishwashers, refrigeration and wine cellars.
The range of new fridges are able to transform into cooling tunnels for food and also feature a multi-channel airflow system which removes malodours and excess humidity. Sections where foods such as meat and cheese can be kept at their optimum temperature also figure.
In keeping with the rest of the range, the wine cellar is once again a robust-looking unit. It offers three independent temperature zones and an electronic system that monitors the temperature settings in each zone, maintaining it within one degree.
The humidity is a constant 60% and the largest size can store 150 full-size bottles - making this model a wine-lovers dream!
Viking bill these new ranges as encompassing 'Superior Technology', and it's clear that they have tried to include the very best options and to produce the finest range.
All the appliances are available in 24 different colours, enabling customers to make a real statement with their kitchens.
But with a distinctly American feel, will the European market warm to these feature-filled designs? The new range features everything a budding chef could want, and with Nigella Lawson opting for a Viking range, the new collection suggests that if your client has the money to invest in a robust unit that has it all, you couldn't go far wrong specifying Viking appliances.
