Finalists Announced for Innovation Awards

kbb Birmingham is proud to announce the official shortlist for the prestigious Innovation Awards 2020, sponsored by Blum. This award scheme recognises the most forward-thinking and technically advanced products within the KBB sector and is one of the most hotly anticipated events of the show.   

The 10 shortlisted finalists will now be displayed in an inspiring showcase across specially designed plinths at kbb 2020, which takes place at the NEC from 1-4 March 2020. The winners will include a judge’s finalist as well as a ‘People’s Choice Award’ winner, and everyone attending the show is encouraged to vote for their winner. The results will be announced to entrants on the third day of the show.

“This year the standard of entries has been higher than ever,” comments Andy Bishop, Creative Director at kbb Birmingham. “We have received a diverse selection of entries, all focusing on truly innovative solutions that are set to transform the sector. Choosing the shortlisted and winning entries out of all of the inspiring solutions was difficult, and I look forward to seeing which of these deserving products receives the most votes from our visitors.”

Smart Quiz Shower Tray by Acquabella: The SMART QUIZ shower tray is an expression of Acquabella’s history. 25 years of innovative creations that merge into a single shower tray made of different textures, which are embedded under geometric figures. SMART QUIZ features an innovative design that consists of three different high-definition finishes created by Acquabella such as the Beton, Zero and Ethnic textures. The show tray has a drain hidden in the centre, with a grating that is fully integrated into the shapes of the shower tray.

Spazio Cooker Hood by Falmec: The new Spazio cooker hood features Falmec’s innovative Circle.Tech technology as well as the exclusive Carbon.Zeo filter. Its beautiful stainless or black painted steel chassis incorporates smoked glass shelves as well as power outlets, USB ports and LED lighting, making it a stylish addition to any kitchen space.

Airgap 6000 by Fluidmaster: The Airgap 6000 Series is the only height adjustable, bottom-inlet toilet fill valve which is compliant to BS1212 and with UK Water Fittings Regulations. Significant water saving is achieved thanks to the delayed side and bottom entry, allowing the Airgap 6000 to conserve up to 1 litre per flush. According to Fluidmaster, if every toilet in the UK was fitted with a delayed-fill Airgap valve, enough water would be saved to meet the consumption needs of the entire population of Wales.

Kinvaro T-Slim Flap System by Grass Movement Systems: Kinvaro T-Slim has been created to maximise the space available within a cabinet. The functional flap solution, opens up entirely new possibilities in furniture design, resulting in a wall cabinet with invisible technology and maximum space. To complement the existing interior, printable cover caps can help to blend the fitting into the furniture unit.

Augmented Glass Skin by Mutaforma: Utilising nanotechnology, Mutaforma changes the optical properties of the glass to create a new and innovative material; Tilla®. Tilla® is the smallest glass tesserae in the world. Made in Italy the material is lightweight, high-tech, flexible and provides a customisable material for interior designers, architects to experiment with.

Kitchen Garden by Natufia Labs: Natufia; the luxury smart home appliance brand has introduced the world’s first fully integrated and automated hydroponic kitchen garden. The technology automatically maintains light, pH, temperature and water levels in addition to optimising minerals, nutrients and vitamins for the non-GMO certified plants. Since the product is designed for the interior, the homeowner does not need to worry about pesticides, herbicides or fungicides and can conveniently manage their own produce from the comfort of their kitchen.

Panorama PRO by Novy: The Panorama Pro is a powerful four-zone induction hob with integrated downdraft extractor, directly behind the cooking area.
