History Scavolini was founded in Pesaro in 1961 thanks to the initiative of the brothers Valter and Elvino Scavolini. In just a few years it developed significantly, turning from an artisan-based firm into one of the most important kitchen furniture manufacturers in central Italy. Finally, in 1984, Scavolini gained the leadership in the inner market, becoming and remaining till now the undisputed n. 1 kitchen furniture manufacturer in the Country. The dimensions In quite a short time the Company has reached remarkable dimensions and nowadays counts on an industrial plant of about 185.000 sq/mt. (89.000 of which covered) and relies on a staff of 550 people. Scavolini is moreover a pole of attraction for the whole area, favouring the presence of a wide net of industries linked to the supplies of modular elements for furniture. The result of the company diligence is demonstrated by an ongoing turnover of more than 200 million € in 2015 as a group. Kitchen, Living, Bathroom Scavolini makes huge investments in order to design and guarantee products where styling and technology come together to meet all interior design and functional requirements. The key plus factors: a production entirely designed and produced in Italy, the range of about 40 models and 350 finishes for kitchen range; a focus on design, always in line with the latest trends; quality also expressed through the meticulous choice of materials, requiring rigorous selection of suppliers; a great quality/price ratio. Today, Scavolini also proposes solutions for the living area, with base units, wall units, open units and shelves that perfectly coordinate with the kitchen for a “total home look”. Scavolini Bathrooms In 2012, Scavolini Bathrooms was introduced. Something absolutely new to the market: a new brand in which the bathroom is at the center of a project designed by the Italian leader in kitchen furniture. A collection of complete bathrooms, in a variety of compositions to meet to the most current dictates of today’s lifestyles and wellness culture. Nine collections, including over 25 washbasins in exclusive designs, wall and floor mounted sanitary fixtures, taps and fittings, shower slabs and  cabins, bathtubs as well as mirrors, accessories and a line of 30 lighting systems. 165 possible finishes for a total of over 1,500 articles. The design Scavolini acknowledges today's conception of a kitchen as in continual evolution, and meets these demands by making best use of the skills of prestigious designers. Important international names are featured, such as Nendo, Ora-ito, Diesel Creative Team, Giugiaro Design, King&Miranda Design, Michael Young and Karim Rashid, who contribute, providing exclusive proposals in a continual mediation of the most advanced and 'effervescent’ creative designs, and our customers' current and future dreams. This feature has always taken a prime position in Scavolini, and comes from an ability to meet market demands quickly, linked with a desire to guarantee complete and lasting customer satisfaction for a varied cross section of the public. Scavolini notes the very first hints of change, and develops on these ideas with a view to continual research and innovation. This creative tension and design focus at the service of consumers form the true heart of Scavolini research – the expression of design, and an all-round heterogeneous laboratory marked by a strong, shared spirit of experimental adventure. The company cultivates these design activities carefully, taking an approach that is not only sociological, but also sector-specific and experimental. This allows for the best exploration of unique languages, giving rise to new design paths that cross the present with a view to the future, aware that design is one of the main weapons in the challenge to guarantee excellence. The sociological approach is based on an analysis of the aesthetic and practical expectations of the various different socio-cultural groups. The sectorial approach is devoted to a ‘pure’ design that sets out the capacity to create beautiful looks and innovation in exclusive projects, and last but not least, the experimental approach is expressed through the research into relations between the kitchen and the daily rituals of its occupants. Scavolini Green Mind and the certification of the Environmental Management System ISO 14001 Scavolini has always shown a profound commitment to and striking level of awareness of its territorial context and the related environmental and socio-cultural factors. In line with this trend, the company has founded Scavolini Green Mind, an ambitious, eco-sustainable project that sees the company more and more involved in safeguarding the environment and resources on all company and production levels. As from January 2009, Scavolini has opted for Idroleb ecological panels for all kitchen structures. Produced by the Mauro Saviola Group, they meet the dual objective of safeguarding the environment and paying maximum attention to consumer health. The panels are 100% prepared with post-consumption certified wood, with the lowest emission of formaldehyde worldwide, with values even falling below the limits set by the extremely severe Japanese standards F****, quoting an emission level of 0.4 mg/l, whilst IDROLEB panels guarantee a level of 0.35 mg/l. The Idroleb panel also complies with V100 water repellence standards, guaranteeing maximum swelling of 10% in 24 hours. On October 2011, a photovoltaic system was opened. The system, called Sunload, consists of 29,000 thin film monocrystalline, polycrystalline silicon panels, covering a total surface area of 31,000 msq and an installed power of 3,360 kWp. The total annual production estimated is about 4,000,000 kWh, to completely cover the energy requirement of the structures and avoid releasing 2,500,000 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere. An important project that also involves the removal and reclamation of about 55,000 m² of Eternit. This creation represents one of the largest roof systems in all of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino and among the top ones at a national level. The company therefore continues along the path that began with the certification of the Environmental Management System, in accordance with UNI EN ISO 14001 standards, obtained in 2004. OHSAS 18001 certification of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems In December 2008, the Scavolini Group was the first industrial kitchen group in Italy to obtain OHSAS 18001 certification of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, showing the great undertaking and sensitivity always shown towards employee protection. In the same way as for the certification of the Quality Management System – obtained in 1996 in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9001:1994 standards, later renewed in October 2002 in accordance with the ‘Vision 2000’ standards – and for the certification of the Environmental Management Systems in 2004, Scavolini has also been awarded OHSAS 18001:2007 certification by SGS Italia, an independent body and world leaders in the inspection, testing and certification of industrial goods and services. It is important to point out that the company’s choice to integrate the Occupational Health and Safety Management System with the Quality Management System and the Environmental Management System, has significantly improved  services and activities shared by these systems, slimlining procedures and optimising timescales. The synergy between the three systems has therefore benefitted both the company's performance and the pursuance of the ‘continuous improvement’ that is the primary objective required by international standards and corporate policy. Distribution Its distribution policy is one of the keys to Scavolini's success. Scavolini has always paid particular attention to strengthening and training its distribution network. In line with this strategy, the company – with a production entirely produced in Italy – is exporting its brand and its products all over the world thanks to an effective and targeted implementation of the distribution and organisational net (which has reached the most important countries and many others have been contacted). This internationalisation has affected production, too. In fact, products are developed according to different countries’ tastes while communication strategies focused on “brand recognition” emphasizing the company distinguishing features. Scavolini has more than 1300 show-rooms all over the world, in all the 5 Continents. Among these, 1000 are in Italy, 150 are in Europe, more than 60 in Russia and in the Eastern Republics, 30 in North America, 20 in the Central and South America and 20 in Asia and Oceania. Scavolini has also made sales personnel training a priority.  For example, since 1994 Scavolini has supported the long term "Insieme per crescere" (Growing together) project, a series of workshops organised for its dealers. Communication An important national and international advertising campaign targeting all the main communications media (billposting, radio, press, television, cinema, web) complete the corporate strategy which strongly confirms Scavolini as leader in its sector. Institutional communication is supported by a strong activity on the point of sale which guarantees increased product recognition. Scavolini pays particular attention to the most innovative means of communication and was one of the Italian pioneers in the use of television for promoting the furniture industry since 1975. Since 1996 Scavolini is also present on the Internet world-wide web with its own website, allowing a direct interaction between end-consumers and Enterprise. Since 2010 Scavolini has also been present in the major social networks: Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube, Wechat and Google+. The group The Scavolini has set a goal to target and meet the needs of an increasingly wider public: trend-setter products are joined by best-seller products, with an innovative and organised approach to industrial design. With this in mind and to fulfil its plan for consolidating and expanding its market share, the company has opted for diversifying its offer by creating the Scavolini Group, profiting from the huge benefits offered by economies of scale. The Scavolini product range has thus expanded concentrically, conquering new market segments; in January 1996 the company launched the ernestomeda brand, which proposes a particularly sophisticated and finely designed product at a highly competitive price. And finally, the Company is also present on the market with the Scavolini Basic line which targets consumers who are less demanding in terms of interior decorating, but who do not want to give up that quality level that only Scavolini can offer. Today, the Scavolini Group represents one of the foremost industries in Italy: in factit operates from a factory on a site of 236,000 square metres (with buildings of 108,000 square metres), which employs more than 650 people. Scavolini: a Company that is active within the territory and cares about the people Scavolini as a Company has always been particularly involved with and is sensitive to the territory and its socio-cultural themes. An attitude that springs from a people-oriented corporate philosophy, it is shown also in its approach to its own employees and its business partners. A mission that has been forged from the start by a continuity of purpose, deep conviction and sense of responsibility expressed through an involvement in economic, social and cultural development, and not directly related to production objectives or Company communications. Scavolini supports activities that encompass diverse social aspects aimed at various groups: from the promotion of cultural events to the restoration of buildings of architectural interest and from the expression of solidarity with the weaker members of society to a substantial commitment to sports sponsorship. The Scavolini Foundation The Foundation bearing the Scavolini name was purposely set up to give impetus to this commitment. An idea born of a strong determination not to limit the Company’s efforts to sponsorships alone, but to provide added impetus for a social activity through an autonomous project aimed at adding value to the culture of its own town and region. An initiative born of the desire to give yet more vigour to that privileged relationship with the territory where the Company’s production facility is located and from which it has drawn, at least in part, the reasons for its success. Founded in 1984, the Scavolini Foundation is determined, through very real patronage and using not only its financial resources but also the operational experience it has, to increase and promote research in the fields of the historic, literary and economic sciences and industrial design, and to favour initiatives aimed at education, recreation and social support. The range of activity has broadened progressively and today includes fields such as the arts, architecture, music, literature, teaching and education, and the study of cultural and economic transformation phenomena in the region where the Foundation operates. At present, the Foundation is working above all in the area of the restoration, renovation and conservation of the cultural heritage. All projects are undertaken directly: it is in fact the foundation itself that develops the intervention plans, selects the operators and manages the works.
