Jane Blakeborough, BMA Research Manager, provides an overview of the latest household behavioural research, investigating bathroom habits and routines, particularly concerning water usage.

Jane founded Trend-Monitor over a decade ago after realising the need for home improvement brands to understand how people use their homes. Today, Trend-Monitor is trusted by some of the biggest names in the industry, and Jane is highly sought-after for her insights into consumer behaviour, regularly advising manufacturers, trade associations, the press and supporting organisations.

In 2023, Jane took on the role of Research Manager at the BMA. Here she delivers insights to members across a wide range of topics. With a background in FMCG marketing, Jane's curiosity about what makes people tick knows no bounds - which makes her one of the most insightful minds in home improvement research for both the BMA and Trend-Monitor.

Tom Reynolds, Chief Executive of the BMA, explains the thirty-under-thirty inaugural awards for BMA members, designed to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of young professionals within the UK’s thriving bathroom manufacturing sector.

Tom Reynolds is Chief Executive of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA), a trade body representing companies that supply the majority of the UK’s bathroom fixtures and fittings. The association focuses heavily on product compliance and all aspects of sustainability. In addition to leading the BMA, Tom is Chair of the UK Trade Association Forum’s Public Affairs Group (PUBCOM), a board member of the Construction Products Association, and a Vice-President of the European Taps and Valves Association (CEIR).

Before joining the BMA in 2019, Tom was the Commercial & Public Affairs Director at the British Ceramic Confederation, where he had a particular interest in international trade policy. Prior to entering the world of trade associations, Tom worked as a journalist and producer in trade media and started his career as a parliamentary aide. He is an alumnus of Keele University, holding an honours degree in Law and Politics and an MRes in Environmental Politics.
