Accessibility at kbb Birmingham 2024

kbb Birmingham is the meeting place for the KBB industry which means all are welcome. The kbb Birmingham team are working closely with the NEC Birmingham to make the show as accessible as possible.

If you are looking to connect with the KBB industry, join us at the easily accessible NEC Birmingham.

Team kbb - measures we've put in place

We provide a neuro-inclusion and mental well-being-focused space for those who feel overwhelmed or overloaded by the sensory input from the busy show environment. More details here: https://eventwell.org/hub-by-eventwell/

We urge exhibitors to install ramps for visitors to access their stands if they are building platforms.

Where carpet is used, it’s a low resistance and low pile for easy accessibility around the show.

The event is on the ground floor so all kbb Birmingham features are fully accessible by wheelchair.

Seating areas will be available throughout the show floor.

Support animals are allowed.

Please be aware that welfare facilities for support animals are not available onsite and all owners will be fully responsible for the actions of their animal, which will need to be kept under control and on a lead or harness or in a pet carrier.

The NEC Birmingham - measures that are in place for all shows

By Train: From Birmingham International Railway Station, access to the NEC is via our covered ‘Bridgelink’.

By Car: We have recently upgraded our facilities for parking and getting to your venue. There's more information on our Getting here page.

Wheelchair Access:  All levels of the NEC are accessible to wheelchair users, via lifts, and have wheelchair friendly toilet facilities. The Piazza and Atrium main entrances have automatic doors.

To help you plan your Blue Badge Visitor Parking, there is a short film explaining what to expect when you arrive onsite at the NEC and the facilities that are available. Watch here.

Please note, you should bring your Blue Badge with you, even if you are arriving by taxi or private coach.

If you are arriving by taxi and have your Blue Badge with you, you will be able to be dropped off at the main entrances. If you also require a pick up, please advise the taxi firm that you have a blue badge and the taxi will be permitted to pick you up from the main entrances.  If you are using a T.O.A black cab you will be picked up at the ranks by the main entrances.

There is a fleet of mobility equipment available to hire on a first come, first serve basis. Therefore it is recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Unfortunately due to the current circumstances,  telephone bookings are not possible at this time.  However, you can email your enquiry to [email protected] and a member of the team will contact you within three working days.

Assistance dogs are welcome, but we do not recommend that you bring them to events where noise levels are high.

Induction loop audio systems are fitted in various locations.

Accessible toilets are available across the venue. Changing Places facilities are also available by Hall 20, on the Atrium side of site and by Hall 2, on the Piazza side of site (both of these are accessible with a radar key).

The Changing Places facilities provide more space for up to 2 carers - and extra features to meet additional needs, including height adjustable adult-sized changing benches and a hoist system.
